Fire is always a devastating interruption of life.  Once the area is cleaned out and burned materials disposed, it takes an expert to remove the smoke smell.  The OdorMD program is trained and experienced for smoke odor removal.  Frankly, fire and smoke smell is one of the toughest jobs in our business.  Fire and smoke contain a variety of elements.  During a fire, the heat opens the pores of most material, so the odors are embedded.

Rather than live with the smell of charred wood and smoke for years after the fire, our treatment program is a critical decision.

As stated, fire pushed some very bad chemical and toxins into the air.  More than the smoke odor, the house can be toxic; and health issues may happens years later.

In addition to removing the smoke odor, our program DETOXIFIES the building.  Our environmentally-safe process is very effective at lowering and eliminating the kind of chemical ingredients pushed out during a fire. 

Our service is rendered after the cleanup process has been accomplished and the areas are relatively dry.  A typical one-day treatment will permanently remove all smoke smell and provide a safe environment and a return to a normal life.

Remove Smoke Odors:  Fire Departments frequently refer smoke odor remediation services to families impacted by a fire.  Be aware of the five levels of fire restoration:

1. Tear out or debridement:  Get a dumpster in place and remove all damaged furniture, curtains, carpet, burned material.  Photograph everything in the house and record all damages for your insurance carrier.
2. Dry out:  Since water is the main fire fighting tool, you will want to remove standing water and use fans and dehumidifiers to dry out the building as quickly as possible.
3. Remove all burned or charred wood from burned areas.  You cannot allow charred wood to remain.  Clean or cut until you see clean wood.
4. Clean everything possible to remove any soot from walls
5. Call OdorMD to schedule an effective and lasting odor removal treatment that also eliminates toxic residue.
